Ian Jane – Managing Director
Ian Jane has been Managing Director of Bentleigh Travel Centre since 1979 when he took over from his ailing father who started the business in 1963. He studied Civil Engineering at RMIT and spent his early career in Airport Design before progressing to other transport related projects around Australia. Over the years he has received multiple awards from Qantas Holidays and other premium travel brands and has travelled extensively to many parts of the world but his experience in European travel is unsurpassed. He has planned and escorted numerous private group tours to all over the globe and has managed a National Conference for 400 delegates for a major Australian retail chain for over 20 years. Some of his leisure clients have been with Bentleigh Travel Centre for over 30 years and many are located interstate. His interests are food and wine, tennis and naturally travel.
Julie Smith
Julie Smith has been with Bentleigh Travel Centre for over 25 years and was originally a lecturer at one of Melbourne’s premier tourism colleges. She has vast experience in selling touring and cruising product and an intimate knowledge of many cities and holiday destinations around the world enabling her to tailor-make the perfect vacation for her clients. She has many long-term clients that now consider her to be a true friend and is well respected in the industry for her professionalism and efficiency.
